Erich von dem Bach-Zelewski (1899-1972)

SS-Obergruppenführer (General). SS- and Police Chief in Breslau until 1941. Then von dem Bach-Zelewski was appointed to the same position in central Russia, which was occupied by German troops. In this capacity he was responsible for the fight against partisans and gangs on the eastern front, during which thousands of Jews were murdered. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1962.
