Phillipp Bouhler (1899-1945)In 1922 employed at the Nazi Party’s newspaper, the Völkischer Beobachter. From 1925-1934 administrator of NSDAP’s division for businessmen. Member of the Reichstag. In 1934 Bouhler was appointed head of the Fuehrer Chancellery, which among other things dealt with censorship and petitions to Hitler. From 1939-1941 Bouhler was responsible for the so-called Euthanasia Programme (Operation T4), where thousands of (mentally) disabled were murdered on orders from the state. The experiences from Operation T4 Bouhler willingly made available to Heinrich Himmler, who used them in the mass murder of the Jews. Bouhler committed suicide in May 1945. Back |
