Wilhelm Stuckart (1902-1953)Lawyer. In 1933 mayor of Stettin and also permanent secretary in the Prussian Ministry of Culture. From 1935 State Secretary (second in command) in the Reich Ministry of the Interior. One of the men responsible for the wording of the Nuremberg Laws. Stuckart participated in the Wannsee Conference in January 1942 as the representative of the Reich Ministry of the Interior. At the conference, he emerged as an opponent of including half- and quarter-Jews in the Final Solution. After the war, Stuckart was sentenced to 3 years and 10 months in prison. He died at a traffic accident in 1953. Back |
